Andrew Men's Basketball Rolls 83-75; Bethea With 9th Double-Double

GRIFFIN, Ga. -- The Andrew College Men's Basketball team shook off the overtime loss to Georgia Highlands College on Wednesday night in Rome, GA, roaring out to a 50-33 halftime lead over Southern Crescent Tech on Saturday in Griffin, GA and cruised to the 83-75 win. The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) victory runs Andrew's record to 12-6 overall and 3-1 in the GCAA. The Tigers sit alone in 3rd place in the GCAA current standings, one game behind leader South Georgia State at 4-0 and Georgia Highlands at 3-0. 

Andrew got points from 11 of the 12 players in the scorebook, as the balanced attack was led by Demarco Bethea with his ninth double-double of the year with 18 points and 11 boards, along with 3 blocks, Samuel McCloud came off the bench to toss in 14 points, Akiem Nickerson added 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and a pair of steals, Sebian Tate and Elliott Yorke Jr. each had 8 points, with Tate addiing 5 rebounds, a steal, a block, and a pair of assists, Jalen Boston and Kobe Cato each added 6 points, with Cato pulling down 6 boards also, as the Tigers shot 43% from the field, 73% from the free throw line, and limited their turnovers to just 15 for the game.

Andrew travels to Swainsboro, GA on Wednesday for a 7:00 pm tipoff against East Georgia State, before returning to the Jinks Gymnasium on Saturday for a matchup against the GCAA leading South Georgia State Hawks at 3:00 pm.
