Tigers Beat Franklin Prep 96-86; Briscoe With 34 Points

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College Men's Basketball team roared out to a 16-point halftime lead, built a second-half lead of 25, then held off a furious Franklin Prep Academy rally, to win 96-86 at the Jinks Gymnasium on Thursday night. Freshman guard Tyshun Briscoe picked up his first collegiate double-double, pouring in 34 points to go with 10 rebounds and center Richard Rivers added his second double-double of the year, tossing in 19 points and grabbing 10 boards, as the Tigers ran their overall record to 3-1. 

Briscoe made 14 of 15 free throws, had 5 assists, and was 9-16 from the field, including a pair of 3's, Rivers also had 3 blocks and had a pair of assists, Jalyn Hickman pumped in 11 points, had a team-high 6 assists, and 3 steals, and Tavion Golden added 7 boards and 11 points to round out the Tigers in double figures.

Andrew is back in the Jinks Gymnasium on Monday night for a matchup against New Rock Prep. Tip off is 7:00 pm.
