Tigers Hold Off South Ga. State 66-64; Littles Leads With 17 Points

WAYCROSS, Ga. -- With the NJCAA Region 17 basketball tournament quickly approaching, every game has taken on a different urgency, and the Tigers answered the bell in Waycross, GA last night, knocking off second place South Georgia State 66-64, in what Head Coach Jamison Williams described as a total team effort. He stated, "This was an 11 man effort. The preparation, discipline, and execution gave us the late game push, and this win shows that we can compete with anybody in the region."

Keith Littles led the Tigers with 17 points, knocking down 6 of 8 from the floor , including 3 of 4 on 3 pointers. Tez Collins came off the bench to pump in 11 points, Jermaine Glover made his first start of the season and responded with 10 points and a team-high 9 rebounds, Jordan Booker added 8 points, 4 steals, and a game-high 10 assists, and Tim Williamson also had 8 points, while pulling down 4 boards.

The Tigers are back in the Jinks Gymnasium on Saturday to take on Albany Tech. Tip off is 3:00 pm. The Tigers fell to Albany Tech in mid-January 76-62.
