Andrew Basketball Takes Out Albany Tech 91-73; Lampkin Goes For 21

ALBANY, Ga. -- The Andrew College men's basketball team roared out to a fourteen point lead at the half, 45-31, and cruised to the 91-73 win in Albany, GA last night, over Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) foe, Albany Technical College. The win takes the Tigers to an 18-7 overall record, and a 6-5 mark in the GCAA, keeps them one game back of a home playoff game, and halts a two-game skid. Andrew also doubled last season's win total and moved closer to the first 20-win season and home playoff game in program history.

Sophomore Dereck Lampkin poured in a team high 21 points, making 8 of 14 from the field and 5 of 6 from the free throw line to lead the Tigers in scoring. Moses Jones added 17 points, Kristian Collins knocked down 5 of 10 shots for 13 points, Solomon Hall posted his second double-double of the year, scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 boards, Jalin Wimberly also grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out a team high 6 assists, Tim Williamson scored 6 points and had 5 assists, and Jordan Booker chipped in 5 assists and 2 steals in the one-sided affair.

The Tigers are back in the Jinks Gymnasium on Saturday, taking on GCAA 3rd-place Gordon State College at 4:00 pm. Gordon was able to pull out a 79-77 win in Barnesville, GA back in January. The matchup will go a long ways in determining seeding in the GCAA.
