Tigers Handle West Ga. Tech 70-58; Collins Scores 27 Points

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- Sophomore Kristian Collins erupted for a season-high 27 points on Saturday in the Jinks Gymnasium, leading all scorers in Andrew College's 70-58 win, running the Tigers overall record to 17-5, as the best season in men's basketball history rolls on. Andrew has had a 6-game winning streak, an 8-game winning streak, and are currently boasting a 3-game winning streak, as they head down the home stretch of their schedule, with 8 games to go, including 5 at home, where they 8-1 this year.

Collins nearly tripled his scoring average per game, coming in averaging 11.0 ppg, knocking down 9 of 14 shots from the field and 5 of 9 on 3pt. attempts, including one stretch in the 1st half where he made 4 straight 3's, to pace the Tigers 32-23 halftime lead.  He also grabbed 6 boards in the contest. The Tigers leading scorer, and 2nd leading scorer in the GCAA, Jalin Wimberly, had perhaps his best overall game of the year, dropping in 12 points, grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds, dishing out a game-high 8 assists, and tied teammate Jordan Booker with a game-high 4 steals for his 4th double-double of the year. Keith Littles came off the bench to add 8 points and a pair of assists, Dereck Lampkin added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, along with his stellar defensive work, and Booker chipped in 6 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals.

The Tigers are back in Jinks twice next week, taking on South Ga. Tech on Wednesday at 7:30 pm, then South Ga. State on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
