PHENIX CITY, Ala. -- Jordan Booker took the in bound pass the length of the floor, starting with just 4.9 seconds, and put in the game-winning lay up as the horn sounded, securing a 72-71 win. The Tigers opened the 2018-19 season on the road against Chattahochee Valley Community College (CVCC) on Thursday, and first-time Head Coach Justin Newton posted his first win.

Jalin Wimberly led the Tiger attack. pouring in a team-leading 21 points. along with 6 rebounds, Dereck Lampkin posted a double-double, scoring 15 points and pulling down a team-leading 10 boards, Kristian Collins and Taylor "TJ" Mitchell each added 8 points and 6 rebounds, and Tim Williamson chipped in with 5 points, as Andrew came back from a 14 halftime deficit, scoring 47 points in the 2nd half.

The Tigers are in the Jinks Gymnasium on Saturday for their home opener, taking on Southern Basketball Academy. Tip off is 3:00 pm.
