Tigers Fall Just Short; Owens Puts Up 27 Points; Wimberly With A Double-Double
CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Tigers had the ball with :09 left, down 3, but couldn't knock down the 3-pointer, and fell 83-80 to South Georgia Tech in the Jinks Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Ijon Owens had a game-high 27 points, including 6 of 8, 3-pointers, and added 5 assists, Jalin Wimberly posted his second double-double of the season, pumping in 17 points and pulling down 12 boards, Jordan Wright added 14 points before fouling out, and Dereck Lampkin chipped in 12 points along with 6 rebounds to round out the Tigers in double figures.
The Tigers are back in Jinks on Wednesday night, taking on South Georgia State College, tip off at 7:00 pm.
