Andrew College Adds Intercollegiate Cheerleading Starting in 2024

Cuthbert, Ga. – Andrew College President Dr. William R. Kennedy has announced the addition of an intercollegiate Cheerleading program at Andrew College. 

Richard Watkins has been named the coach for the inaugural cheerleading season. Coach Watkins joins Andrew College after serving 22 years in the Cheerleading industry. Within that time span Richard has won numerous National Championships, three of which at the collegiate level with the University of West Georgia, in Carrollton Georgia. Coach Watkins has also opened and operated a handful of All-Star Cheerleading gyms as a coach and most recently a Director. He has coached all ages and talent at the grade school and collegiate level. His attention to detail and desire to build up the youth has prepared many of his athletes to take that next step in his or her life and be successful.

Coach Richard Watkins has roots all over the southeast and is excited to create a pipeline and a staple place for Cheerleaders to come and call home at Andrew College.
