Crosby, Quick, and Bowman Nab Gold Glove Awards for 2024–25 Season
Cuthbert, GA - Andrew College proudly celebrates three of its top defenders—Jack Quick, Zack Bowman, and Patrick Crosby—who have been awarded GCAA Gold Glove honors for their exceptional defensive performances during the 2024–25 season. These accolades are reserved for the best fielders at each position across Region 17, and the Tigers' trio more than earned their place among the elite.
Patrick Crosby – Third Base
Already named the GCAA Defensive Player of the Year, Crosby's Gold Glove win at third base was a natural addition to his list of accomplishments. Known for his quick reactions and flawless mechanics, Crosby compiled 74 assists and 22 putouts with just two errors, finishing the season with a .980 fielding percentage.
Third base, often referred to as the "hot corner," requires a rare mix of athleticism, composure, and toughness—all traits Crosby displayed with ease. Whether charging bunts, snagging line drives, or making cross-diamond throws, Crosby was a difference-maker every game.
Jack Quick – First Base
Quick was a steady, reliable presence at first base all season long, serving as the anchor of the infield. With 332 total chances, including 311 putouts and 19 assists, he made even the most challenging plays look routine. His .994 fielding percentage reflects a nearly flawless performance at a position that demands split-second decision-making and soft hands.
Quick's consistency gave his teammates confidence to make aggressive plays knowing he could finish them off. Whether stretching out for tough throws or scooping short hops, Quick's work at first base was essential to the team's defensive cohesion and late-game success.
Zack Bowman – Outfield
Bowman made his mark as one of the top defensive outfielders in the conference. In 104 total chances, he recorded 96 putouts and six assists, with just two errors on the year. His speed, positioning, and strong arm allowed him to cover ground efficiently and keep base runners in check.
Time and again, Bowman came up clutch—cutting off balls in the gap, making tough catches on the run, and delivering accurate throws to hold or gun down runners. His defensive reliability helped limit big innings from opposing teams and kept the Tigers in close games.
Together, Quick, Bowman, and Crosby set a defensive tone that elevated the entire team. Their commitment to excellence, ability to execute under pressure, and standout fielding performances played a pivotal role in Andrew College's strong showing this season.
