Baseball Takes Down East Georgia State 7-5; Blount Shines on the Mound; Tigers Belt Out 14 Hits

SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- The Andrew College Baseball team opened the four game series on Tuesday afternoon in Swainsboro, GA, knocking off East Georgia State 7-5 behind a solid effort from starter Alex Blount and 14 Tiger hits, all but one of them, singles.

Andrew broke open a scoreless game with 6 runs in the top of the 4th inning, the Bobcats responded with 3 runs of their own in the bottom half, followed by four scoreless innings, and after posting a run in the top of the 9th inning, the Tigers called on Andrew Parr to quell an East Ga rally, earning his 3rd save of the season.

Blount worked 7.0 innings, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 8, to earn the win. Kyle Kuramoto, Blake Falor, and Mitch Cowan each had 3 hits, Brayden Eavenson went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and a pair of RBI, Ben Crawley tripled in two runs, and Jack Hay was 1 for 5 with 2 RBI.

The series shifts to the Hord Athletic Complex over the weekend, with a single nine game at 3:30 pm on Friday, and a 1:00 pm doubleheader on Saturday.
