Tiger Baseball Sweeps Point Univ JV 11-0 & 6-3; Eavenson With Big Day; Granger Tosses No-Hitter

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College baseball team ran their winning streak to three games in a row, run-ruling Point University JV 11-0 in the opener, then rode a pair of strong pitching efforts to take the nightcap 6-3 at the Hord Athletic Complex on Monday afternoon. The pair of wins takes the Tigers season record to 15-10 on the year. 

Brayden Eavenson sparked the Tiger offense in game one, going 3 for 3 with a double, 3 runs scored, a stolen base and a walk-off 3-run homer to end the game in the bottom of the 6th inning. Blake Falor was also 3 for 3 with a pair of runs scored, his 2nd homer of the year and 4 RBI, Jack Hay went 3 for 3 with his 1st home run of the year and 2 RBI, and Caleb Granger pitched 5 innings of no-hit ball, striking out 7, to pick up his 1st win of the year in the 11-0 shutout.

In the nightcap, Andrew broke up a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the 5th inning, scoring a pair of runs in the 5th and 1 run in the 6th inning, to ease to the 6-3 win. Cole Baucom scattered 4 hits in 5.0 innings and a pair of earned runs, while striking out 5 to earn his 2nd win of the year, while Alex Blount fanned 4 in 2.0 innings of relief to pick up his 2nd save of the season. The Andrew offense scratched out 6 runs on just 8 hits, led by Mitch Cowan who singled in a pair of runs and scored once, Eavenson went 2 for 3 with 3 stolen bases and a run scored, Brent Burford had a pair of hits, a stolen base and doubled in a run, and Falor was 2 for 2 with an RBI.

The Tigers are back at the Hord Complex for a 2:00 pm doubleheader against Southern Union State (AL) on Friday.
