Tigers Split With Chattahoochee Valley (AL); Rally From 9-0 Deficit in Game Two

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College Baseball team dropped the opener to Chattahoochee Valley CC (AL) 6-4 on Saturday afternoon at the Hord Athletic Complex, then erupted for 11 unanswered runs after falling behind 9-0 after two innings in game two, to record the 12-10 win.

The Tigers managed just 7 hits in the 6-4 loss, led by Mitch Cowan's 3 for 4 with an RBI and a stolen base, Trevor Gruskza went 2 for 4 with a pair of runs scored and two stolen bases, Kyle Kuramoto singled in a run, and Caleb Granger absorbed the loss.

Down 9-0 entering the bottom of the 2nd inning of the nightcap, Andrew put up 2 runs in the 2nd inning, 5 more in the 3rd, 2 more in the 4th and 5th innings, and eased to the 12-10 win. Cowan again shined at the plate, going 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored, a stolen base and 2 RBI, Brayden Eavenson went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, Blake Falor was 2 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI, Kuramoto singled in a pair of runs, Gruskza and Brent Burford each singled in a run, and Drew Ginther picked up the win in relief, with Garrett Green notching his 1st save of the season with a perfect 7th inning.

Andrew is back at the Hord Athletic Complex on Thursday for a 4:00 pm doubleheader against Enterprise State CC (AL)
