Tigers Thump Point Univ. JV 5-1 & 11-0

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College baseball team made short work of the Point University JV team on Monday at the Hord Athletic Complex, riding a pair of strong starts, and some heavy hitting in game two, winning game one 5-1, then the nightcap 11-0, to run their season record to 15-9 on the season.

Starter Colby Fields scattered 4 hits in 6 innings pitched, allowed only an unearned run and struck out 3 to run his record to 4-0 on the year. Javarious McDaniel pitched a clean 7th inning to close out the game. Third baseman Grant Hall led the Tiger offense, going 2 for 3 with a triple, scored twice and picked up 2 RBI, Joey Fletcher didn't have an official at bat, but drove in a pair of runs with sacrifice flys, and John "JoJo" Kelliher was 2 for 3 with an RBI, as the Tigers turned just seven hits into five runs, in the 5-1 win.

Game two starter Keyshawn Mays tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just 2 hits, while striking out 3, as he picked up his 1st collegiate win. Andrew Bourque was 4 for 4 in the game, scored twice, and ended the contest due to the mercy rule, with his 2nd homer of the year to make the final 11-0. Robert Malone finished 2 for 3 with a pair of runs scored, doubled, stole 2 bases, and had an RBI, Jake Edwards doubled in a pair of runs and scored once, Hall was again 2 for 3 with a pair of RBI, and Reid Ragsdale and Kelliher singled in runs, as the Tigers pounded out 13 hits in 5 innings.

The Tigers travel to Panama City, FL on Wednesday, where they will take on Black Hawk College in a single nine-inning game starting at 4:00 pm.
