Tigers Beat St. John's River State 4-1; Cox Shines on the Mound

PANAMA CITY, Fla. -- The Andrew College baseball team improved their record to 6-1 behind Jared Cox's stellar start on Saturday in Panama City, FL, knocking off St. Johns's River State College 4-1. Cox scattered 2 hits over 5.1 innings, allowed no runs, issued no walks, and struck out 6, as he ran his season record to 2-0. Jonah Stout came on in the top of the 6th inning to finish off the effort, striking out 2 in 1.2 innings of work.

The Tiger offense turned 3 hits and 5 walks into 4 runs, to plate 2 runs in the 1st inning and 2 more in the 4th to provide all the run support needed. Jacob Pierce, Griffen Long, and Tyler McKay each logged a hit, with Grant Hall and Long picking up an RBI each.

The Tigers finish out the Kevin Miller Tournament on Sunday with a nine-inning game against host Gulf Coast State at 2:00 pm.
