Tigers Rally in Game 1; Roll in Game 2; Sweep Faulkner University JV

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- Kevin Donovan and Colby Mullins both picked up their 3rd wins of the season, the Tigers rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to take game one 5-4, then cruised behind 13 hits to win game two 13-1, as Andrew College swept the Faulkner University JV at the Hord Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Donovan struck out 4 in 6 innings of work in game one, overcoming multiple errors to keep the Tigers in the game, before Dahlton Cash led off the bottom of the 6th inning with a mammoth shot to center to bring the Tigers to within 4-3, then Clint Sellers doubled in the tying and go ahead runs to put Andrew up 5-4. Brady Jones pitched a perfect 7th inning for his 2nd save of the year.

The Tigers used three big innings to put game two away early, scoring 3 runs in the 2nd inning, then 5 runs in the 4th and 5th to pick up the 13-1 win. Collin Chambers led the offense, going 2 for 3 with a double, home run and 4 RBI, Jordan Holt went 2 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, and stole his team-leading 22nd base, Kodi Bishop went 2 for 4 with an RBI, Brent Todys homered and drove in two runs, and Sellers doubled in a pair of runs to round out the offense. Mullins struck out 7 in 5 innings of work. 

Andrew returns to GCAA play next week with a four game series against West Ga. Tech. Tuesday's game is set for 6:00 pm at the Hord Athletic Complex. Another single nine inning game is scheduled for Friday night at 4:00 pm in Carrollton, GA, followed by a 1:00 pm doubleheader on Saturday, also in Carrollton.
