Tigers Knock Off East Ga. 7-4; Split Series

SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- The Tigers pounded out 10 hits and 7 runs on Friday night in Swainsboro to knock off East Ga. State 7-4 in GCAA action, picking up their 26th win of the season, eclipsing Head Coach Blake Williams single season win total of 25 wins, and keeping them firmly in 3rd place in Region 17.

Mike Branche was 2 for 4 with a double, a pair of runs scored and 2-RBI, Chris Schwarzer was also 2 for 4, with an inside-the-park 2-run homer, Collin Chambers was 2 for 4 with a double, Brandon Brown picked up his 4th win of the season, pitching 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs, while striking out 3, and Reagan Anderson recorded his 1st save of the season, with 3 innings of relief.

The Tigers continue to be among the leaders in the GCAA stats, with Branche 2nd in doubles with 14, and RBI's with 40, 7th in batting average at .364, and 8th in homeruns with 4, Schwarzer is 4th in homers with 5, and 11th in batting average with a .346, Jordan Holt and Jalin Thomas sit tied for 2nd in stolen bases with 20 each, while Josh Peters is 5th in stolen bases with 15, and Jaquarious Glover is 3rd in ERA with a 2.05.

The Tigers will take on South Ga. State College this week in GCAA play, a single nine on Tuesday night in Douglas, Ga., another single nine on Thursday night at the Hord Athletic Complex, then a Saturday doubleheader, also at the Hord Athletic Complex in Cuthbert.
