Schwarzer, Branche Lead Tigers to Sweep of Thomas JV 10-8 & 9-5

THOMASVILLE, Ga. -- Chris Schwarzer blasted a pair of homeruns, and drove in 5 runs, to lead the Tigers to a 10-8 win in game one, then Mike Branche belted his 3rd homer of the year, as part of a 12-hit attack, to propel the Tigers to a 9-5 win in the nightcap. The wins were the 23rd and 24th of the seaon, and moved the Tigers to within one win of matching Head Coach Blake Williams single season high of 25 wins. The school single season record is 34 wins. The Tigers have 12 regular season games left on the schedule.

In game one, Connor Nalley was 3 for 4 with an RBI, Branche and Andrew Compton each were 2 for 3, with Branche scoring 3 times, and Jaquarious Glover picked up his 3rd win of the year, with Logan Foster notching his 3rd save on the year.  

Game two saw Branche and Nalley each going 3 for 5 with an RBI, Collin Chambers added a 2 for 3 with a double and 2-RBI, Schwarzer chipped in with a 2 for 4, and Jalin Thomas not being credited with an official at bat, drawing 4 walks, driving in and scoring a run. Reagan Anderson ran his record to 3-1 on the season, striking out 3, and Bradley Klees picked up his 1st save of the season.

Andrew returns to GCAA play next week with a four game series versus East Ga. State, with a single game on Tuesday at the Hord Athletic Complex, then a single game Friday, and a doubleheader on Saturday in Swainsboro, Ga.
