Branche Delivers Again; Tigers Take Series Opener Against West Ga. Tech

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Mike Branche broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the 9th inning, with a bases-loaded 2-RBI single, and the Tigers rode another strong outing from starting pitcher Jaquarious Glover, plus a standout performance from winning relief pitcher Logan Foster to knock off West Ga. Tech in Carrollton on Tuesday night 4-2.

Glover worked into 8th inning, striking out 5 and allowing just 1 earned run, departing with the bases loaded and one out for Foster, who promptly induced a inning-ending double play. The Tigers turned three double plays on the evening. The win is Foster's 1st at the collegiate level.

Chris Schwarzer went 3 for 5 with a double and a run scored, Collin Chambers added a 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Jalin Thomas also had a pair of hits and an RBI, as the Tigers picked up their 21st win of the season and ran their GCAA record to 6-3.

The Tigers continue to be amongst the leaders in the GCAA, with Josh Peters leading the region with a .402 batting and is tied for 2nd with 14 stolen bases, Branche on top of the RBI list with 33, Glover sits 3rd in ERA with a 1.78, and Jordan Holt and Thomas are tied for 5th with 13 stolen bases.

The Tigers will be back at the Hord Athletic Complex to complete the series, with a single nine inning game at 6:00 pm on Friday night, then a doubleheader on Saturday, first game at 1:00 pm.
