Andrew College Athletes Walk/Run 22 Miles For Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention

The walkers at the beginning of Mission22 Walk:

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- AndrewServes Student Leadership Program at Andrew College hosted their 4th Annual Mission 22 Walk/Run for Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention this past Saturday. The 22 mile walk/run started at 8:00 am at the Health Department in Lumpkin, GA and ended at the Omaha Brewing Company in Omaha, GA. According to a Department of Veterans Affairs study, each day an average of 22 Veterans take their own life. The #MI22ION is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness to help with the fight against Veteran Suicide. The 22 mile walks are held year round all over the United States to help with this cause.

Eighteen Andrew College student-athletes participated in the walk. They were: Ryan Middleton, Shawn Host, Wade Law, Chase Locklar, Corey Coltrane (baseball), Ryla Christian, Logan Stinson, Shelbie Clawson, Megan Royals, Megan Carlson, Rebecca Johnson, Tiella Banks (softball), Maris Guzman, Taylor Barnes, Ellie Wortham (volleyball), Fredrick Ackander, John Soto, Blas Elizondo (men's soccer), and Celine Elie (women's soccer).
